Hello everybody! I hope you are all doing well!
Now, before you all start giving me a disappointed look I can explain myself. Since my last post, I have had many different things pop up in my life. For one, my eldest sister got married! *queue audience aww*
Yes, she is officially a married woman and I am so happy to welcome my new brother-in-law! So after dealing with the stressors of her double wedding, I have also been getting accustomed to my new job.
After a semester of taking four different courses, I am now free from school for a while and so I am taking this time to work.
I am only about 4 weeks into this job, but unfortunately, I am already tired of it. lol.
I am going to be very vulnerable and open with you guys, because I feel like I can be with you guys. I'm not really sure what's going on. This is a job I prayed for. This is a job that God favored me heavy for. But why am I already tired of it?
I'm finally in a point of my life where I don't have to worry about classes, and I can truly embark on my "adult journey" by working a 9-5 Monday-Friday job. But I am exhausted, sis.
This is not my first full-time job. I have even taken my own idea of taking time out to have fun and not let my life revolve around my job. But chile. The weekends escape so quickly and by Monday I'm already wishing it was Friday. I am quick to clock out Friday evening.
Listen, this is what people want to do for the rest of their lives? God forbid.
So, I have made up some things that can help with people exhausted and tired of working.
Be grateful for having a job. I think this is so important, especially for someone like me who was unemployed and almost broke every week for the last few months. I prayed for this, so I should at least be happy that I have the opportunity to work and receive these nice paychecks bi-weekly.
Do stuff you enjoy doing outside of work hours. It's important to increase your social activities especially with things like this. Try to hang out with friends or a partner or even your family members. Engage in your favorite hobbies and do things that you like outside of work.
Focus on your health. Make sure you are getting enough hours of sleep. I know personally I have not been getting an adequate amount of sleep so I am coming to work already annoyed with everyone. Also, try working out or going for a walk. I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. Also, meditating can also help with the stressors of your job. Eat better and drink more water.
Take a break from work. Whenever you feel like you're tired or work is too stressful, make sure you take some time out for yourself. A very important Nigerian proverb states, "chop life, no make like chop you!" Don't kill yourself and overwork yourself because of a job.
Marry someone for money? What? The influencers can do it, but I can't?
Quit. It's this simple. It's not by force you have to work. Plus, what if working isn't for you? What if you're better at owning your own business. Or find a job that you actually enjoy. Figure out what you like to do, and put your time into that.
I hope this helps, friends. Trust me, I will definitely try listening to my own advice as well.
Hang in there guys,
Kay
